Jokić Reflects on Nuggets Challenges: Every Turnover Costs Us 20 Points

Nikola Jokić has been phenomenal over the past three games, averaging 45 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 10.7 assists; however, the Denver Nuggets have faced defeat in each of those contests.

Missing out on a triple-double for the third game in a row by a single assist, the team from Colorado is encountering challenges, including a loss to the Indiana Pacers, their first defeat against them since 2020.

Jokić struggled to articulate the team’s current situation.

“I really don’t know. Maybe we just… I honestly have no idea,” he expressed.

He emphasized the issue of turnovers.

“Everyone had one or two moments of ‘It’s on me,’ and that adds up to 10 ‘my bads,’ which translates to at least 20 points or more. We all need to improve in those extra effort moments or contribute just a little bit more to alleviate the pressure,” Jokić said as he wrapped up his thoughts.

Currently, the Nuggets hold a record of 47-32, placing them fourth in the Western Conference standings, but they risk falling into the Play-In tournament with three regular-season games left. This comes despite Jokić producing another remarkable season, boasting averages of 29.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 10.2 assists.
