Rising Stars: Egor Demin Leads a Surge of Young Euros Entering the 2025 NBA Draft

Egor Demin, a freshman at BYU and a former player in the Real Madrid academy, has announced his intention to enter the 2025 NBA Draft, as reported by ESPN. The Russian guard/forward is anticipated to be selected in the lottery.

In his first season with the BYU Cougars, the 18-year-old Demin averaged 10.6 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds over 27.5 minutes per game. He was recognized with a spot on the Big 12 All-Freshman team.

Before joining the Cougars, Demin played a key role in leading Real Madrid to victory in the 2024 EuroLeague Adidas Next Generation Tournament, where he recorded 26 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in a nail-biting 85-84 finals win against Insep.

In addition to Demin, another European talent entering the NBA Draft is Bogoljub Markovic, a forward/center from Mega Superbet, as confirmed by his agent, Misko Raznatovic. The 19-year-old Serbian player has been impressive this season, averaging 13.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 31:08 minutes of play in the ABA League.

Also declaring for the NBA Draft is French forward Noah Penda, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. The 20-year-old has contributed an average of 5.2 points and 2.5 assists in the French League with Le Mans this season.
