Luka Doncic Eyes NBA Glory: Our Chemistry Can Propel Us to Victory

As the Dallas Mavericks prepare to face the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 of their best-of-seven playoff series, Luka Doncic is set to go up against Rudy Gobert in the opening round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs, presented by Google.

Having led the Mavericks to the NBA Finals in 2024, Doncic’s memorable moment came from hitting a game-winning three-pointer over the towering French center.

“Ever since I entered the league, I’ve enjoyed playing pick-and-roll,” the Ljubljana talent stated at a press conference on Thursday. “I love having a center match up against me.”

The upcoming battle takes place in the Conference Quarterfinals of the playoffs. With the Los Angeles Lakers holding home-court advantage after finishing third in the final Western Conference standings for the 2024-25 regular season, the series will kick off on Saturday at the crypto.com Arena.

“That has to be our sole focus, and it is. I truly believe we have the squad to achieve it. When everyone is fully engaged, we’re a tough team to defeat,” the 26-year-old guard remarked about his aspirations for an NBA championship. “The chemistry is strong, and I’m confident that we have a real shot.”

After making 50 appearances with the Mavericks, Doncic is gearing up for his fifth playoff run. Since joining the historic Los Angeles franchise midseason through a trade, he has amassed impressive averages of 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.4 blocks over 28 games, building momentum for a championship bid under JJ Redick’s guidance.
