Exactly 77 days following Luka Doncic’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks have officially been eliminated from NBA Playoff contention after falling in their final Play-In match.
Competing against the Memphis Grizzlies on the road, Jason Kidd’s squad was unable to secure a victory, suffering a 120-106 loss. As a result, the Grizzlies progressed to the Playoffs and claimed the 8th seed, where they will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the First Round of the Western Conference.
Santi Aldama played a key role in Memphis’ triumph, contributing 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists from the bench.
Meanwhile, Anthony Davis put on an impressive performance, leading his team with 40 points and 9 rebounds, but he had to exit the game due to what appeared to be a right calf injury.
“It was an amazing season, but with the trade and injuries, some might argue we shouldn’t have even made it this far. So, a lot of credit goes to those guys in that locker room,” remarked Jason Kidd.
