Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic have been named finalists for the Kia NBA Most Valuable Player award, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander also being recognized as a contender.
On Sunday, the NBA unveiled three candidates for the MVP title of the 2024-25 Regular Season, along with nominees for various other accolades including the Kia NBA Rookie of the Year, Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Kia NBA Most Improved Player, Kia NBA Sixth Man of the Year, Kia NBA Clutch Player of the Year, and NBA Coach of the Year.
In addition to the prominent players from the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets, French prospect Zaccharie Risacher is vying for the Rookie of the Year title, while Croatian player Ivica Zubac is competing for the Most Improved Player honor. It’s also noteworthy that Jokic has made the list for the Clutch Player of the Year award.
The announcement of the winners will take place over the coming weeks, along with the Kia All-NBA Teams, Kia All-Rookie Teams, Kia All-Defensive Team, NBA Executive of the Year, NBA Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year, NBA Hustle Award, NBA Social Justice Champion, NBA Sportsmanship Award, and J. Walker Kennedy Citizenship Award (as determined by the Professional Basketball Writers Association).
