Despite facing difficulties with his three-point shooting throughout the initial rounds of this matchup against the defending champions, Franz Wagner made a remarkable comeback in Game 3.
With the Orlando Magic trailing 2-0 and the series shifting to their home court, the team harnessed newfound energy and determination, securing a 95-93 victory and setting the stage for a potential tied series in Game 4.
As highlighted, the German forward delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 32 points on 11-of-27 shooting, including a 3-of-13 effort from beyond the arc—significantly better than his combined 2-of-13 shooting in the first two games. He also recorded 7 rebounds and 8 assists.
“We didn’t have a great start, but we increased our intensity in the second half. I aimed to play aggressively and create opportunities for my teammates,” he remarked.
Teaming up with Paolo Banchero, the dynamic duo accumulated a total of 61 points, with Banchero contributing 29 points along with 6 rebounds in Orlando’s triumph.
For Boston, Jayson Tatum was the standout performer, finishing with 36 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Kristaps Porzingis struggled, managing only 7 points and 6 rebounds on 3-of-10 shooting.
