Rising Star Mouhamed Faye Takes Bold Step from Basketball Champions League to 2025 NBA Draft

Mouhamed Faye has officially filed the necessary documentation to enter the 2025 NBA draft.

On Sunday, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reported this development.

Taking a similar route to Nolan Traore, who recently announced his plans to transition from the Basketball Champions League and Saint-Quentin to the annual North American league draft, Faye joins a growing roster of talented prospects emerging from FIBA Europe’s premier club competition.

Players like Vlatko Cancar, Ariel Hukporti, Ognjen Jaramaz, Alpha Kaba, Vit Krejci, Arnoldas Kulboka, Yam Madar, Vanja Marinkovic, Frank Ntilikina, Yannick Nzosa, Tidjane Salaun, Luka Samanic, Issuf Sanon, Alperen Sengun, and Marko Simonovic have all made the connection from the Champions League to the NBA draft.

Displaying his remarkable wingspan in the BCL, the 20-year-old center from Senegal participated in 15 games during the 2024-25 season, averaging 6.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, 0.4 steals, and 0.3 assists per game for UnaHotels Reggio Emilia.

Despite being knocked out of continental competition, he continues to compete in Italy’s LBA UnipolSai. In 27 appearances this season, he has posted averages of 10.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 0.6 steals, and 0.4 assists per game.
