In addition to his viral dunk attempt in Brazil, Giannis Antetokounmpo discussed the NBA Finals and expressed his desire to return as a player for the Milwaukee Bucks.
“There are two outstanding teams that made it,” the 2021 Finals Most Valuable Player told the Brazilian media outlet “Coast to Coast,” referring to the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers competing in the 2025 Finals presented by YouTube TV. He mentioned, “Indiana, with my friend Pascal Siakam, is enjoying success, and OKC has the MVP on their side. I’m rooting for high-quality basketball.”
“The Finals have a unique atmosphere; I hope to be back with the Bucks soon,” he remarked, essentially dismissing the idea of exploring other opportunities for a second championship.
While in Brazil, the 30-year-old point forward also took to the court, facing a challenging environment with a slippery floor.

Since the Bucks were eliminated from the 2025 Playoffs presented by Google, the Athens-born star has been the subject of continuous speculation, ranging from a postponed meeting with the Bucks to multiple teams with the right trade assets looking to acquire him. However, recent rumors indicate that he is keen on staying in Milwaukee, a sentiment that has been seemingly corroborated by the player himself.
In addition to contemplating his NBA future, Giannis is also expected to join the senior national team of Greece this offseason, as he plans to compete under the guidance of coach Vassilis Spanoulis in EuroBasket 2025, scheduled from August 27 to September 14.
