Kevin Durant Eyes Miami, San Antonio, and Houston as Ideal Trade Landing Spots Amidst Phoenix Suns Shake-Up

Kevin Durant has identified three teams as his top choices for a trade: the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania. He is open to signing a long-term contract with any of these organizations.

His existing contract for the 2025-26 season is valued at $54.7 million and will come to an end after that. The Phoenix Suns have informed other teams that they are willing to trade him to the highest bidder, regardless of whether it aligns with Durant’s preferred options.

There has been speculation about Durant’s potential trade since February’s deadline discussions. Following a trade, he would be eligible to sign a two-year extension worth as much as $122 million beginning July 6, or he could opt to wait six months for a potentially larger agreement.

The 37-year-old All-Star delivered an impressive season, averaging 26.6 points, 6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists while sustaining exceptional shooting performance.

Despite boasting the league’s highest payroll, the Suns ended the season with a disappointing 36-46 record, leading to significant changes within the front office, including the appointment of a new general manager and head coach.

Durant joined Phoenix in February 2023 and currently holds the franchise record for the highest scoring average at 26.8 points per game.
