Headline: Thunders Stellar Duo Powers Them to 3-2 Finals Lead, Now One Win From Title Glory

The Oklahoma City Thunder are one victory away from clinching their first NBA title after overcoming the Indiana Pacers with a score of 120-109 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Jalen Williams had a phenomenal performance, achieving a playoff career-high of 40 points, while MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander contributed 31 points and 10 assists. This win came after the Thunder nearly let their lead slip away, making it an essential triumph.

Similar to Game 1, the Thunder established a substantial lead at home, but the Pacers made a spirited comeback. Indiana managed to erase an 18-point gap and drew within just two points early in the fourth quarter, even with star guard Tyrese Haliburton playing with a leg injury. Pascal Siakam was the leading scorer for the Pacers with 28 points, and TJ McConnell chipped in with 18 points, fueling their resurgence.

However, the Thunder remained resilient this time around. Williams and Gilgeous-Alexander’s combined total of 71 points marked their most productive partnership of the postseason, helping them finish the game on a high note.

With this victory, the Thunder now lead the series 3-2. Historically, teams that find themselves in this position have gone on to win the Finals 82% of the time. Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday in Indiana.
