Augustas Marciulionis has stood out among several undrafted newcomers, securing an agreement to join an NBA team on an Exhibit 10 contract. The 23-year-old Lithuanian point guard is set to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, as reported by ESPN’s Jonathan Givony after the presentation of the 2025 NBA Draft at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Hailing from Vilnius, Augustas is the son of Sarunas Marciulionis, who is renowned for his position on the prestigious all-time rankings of the best international players. Sarunas was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014 and entered the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2015.
Augustas began his basketball journey as a youth player for Rytas and transitioned to the senior team, where he participated in five Basketball Champions League matches. He also made his debut in Lithuania’s top division during the 2020-21 season. Following that, he spent the next four years playing for Saint Mary’s in the NCAA.
In addition, the promising player has represented Lithuania on various junior national teams. After competing in the FIBA U16 European Championship in 2018, the FIBA U18 European Championship in 2019, and the FIBA U19 World Cup in 2021, he played a key role in helping Lithuania secure a silver medal at the FIBA U20 European Championship in 2022.
His next objective is to vie for a place on the Lakers’ roster for the 2025-26 season. He missed the pre-draft process due to a foot injury but is anticipated to receive medical clearance by late July.
In other developments related to Exhibit 10 contracts reported by various media outlets following the draft, the Philadelphia 76ers have signed Spanish talent Izan Almansa and Igor Milicic Jr., the son of Igor Milicic, who is an international player representing Poland.
Additionally, Isaac Nogues from Spain is set to join the Sacramento Kings on an Exhibit 10 contract after an impressive season with the Rip City Remix in the G League.
