Naz Reid, the center for the Minnesota Timberwolves, is anticipated to finalize a new five-year contract worth $125 million, as reported by ESPN.
The agreement will be officially executed on July 6 in accordance with league regulations.
Reid opted not to take a $15 million player option for the 2025-26 season, but he will benefit financially from this new, enhanced contract.
Named the Sixth Man of the Year for 2023-24, Reid continued to demonstrate his talent off the bench for Minnesota, recording a career-best average of 14.2 points and 6.0 rebounds over 27.5 minutes per game. In the 17 games he started, he raised his averages to 18.3 points and 9.0 rebounds.
In 2023, he signed a three-year contract totaling $42 million, which included a player option this summer. Since joining the Timberwolves in 2019 as an undrafted free agent from LSU, he has spent his entire six-year NBA career with the team.
