James Harden has decided to forgo the final year of his contract with the Los Angeles Clippers and will sign a new two-year agreement worth $81.5 million to continue with the team, according to multiple sources.
Reports indicate that Harden will have the option to opt out of this new contract next summer.

Last season, Harden averaged 22.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 8.7 assists in his 16th year in the league. He was selected as an All-Star for the 11th time and made the All-NBA team for the first time since the 2019-20 season.
Harden joins a select group of just four players in NBA history to average a minimum of 22 points, five rebounds, and five assists in their 16th season or later. The other players in this elite category include LeBron James (seven times), Kobe Bryant (twice), and Kevin Durant (once).
He currently ranks second all-time in career three-pointers made with 3,175, trailing only Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, who has 4,058.
As he enters the upcoming season, Harden finds himself in 11th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list with 27,687 points, closing in on the 10th position held by Carmelo Anthony (28,289) and the 9th spot occupied by Shaquille O’Neal (28,596). Additionally, Harden is 13th in career assists with 8,316, just 208 away from number 12, Andre Miller, and 650 behind number 11, Gary Payton.
