The Miami Heat have secured the services of Italian forward Simone Fontecchio from the Detroit Pistons through a sign-and-trade arrangement that involves Duncan Robinson heading to Detroit, according to Shams Charania.
Under the terms of this deal, Robinson has inked a new three-year contract valued at $48 million with the Pistons.
Fontecchio, who will celebrate his 30th birthday in December, made his NBA debut in 2022 with the Utah Jazz before being dealt to Detroit. He played in 75 games last season, averaging 5.9 points and 2.9 rebounds, with a three-point shooting percentage of 33.5%.
He now becomes a part of a Miami squad that is aiming to enhance its lineup with additional shooting and size on the perimeter.
