The NBA Summer League continued its excitement on Monday with a doubleheader in Salt Lake City, featuring matchups between the Thunder and Sixers, as well as the Grizzlies and Jazz. Here’s a recap of the standout performances:

After being selected 28th overall in the 2023 draft, Sensabaugh has begun to demonstrate his potential, providing glimpses of his talent during the Summer League. In the Jazz’s victory over the Grizzlies, the 6-foot-6 swingman achieved a SLC Summer League-record of 37 points, shooting an impressive 9-for-14 from the field and hitting 6-of-9 from beyond the arc. He was also effective inside, drawing 14 free throw attempts, converting 13 of them. As the Jazz assess their recent investments in young prospects, Sensabaugh is making a strong case for being a valuable asset moving forward.

The highly anticipated player of the night had a solid outing, accumulating 18 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in just 34 minutes. Notably, the fifth overall pick delivered this performance without committing a single turnover, which is a rare feat for a rookie in Summer League action. Bailey showcased his exceptional athletic ability on several occasions; how he integrates this talent into his overall game will be crucial in determining his future potential.

Last season, Jackson’s momentum from an All-Rookie campaign was hindered by a broken foot. Now, the 6-foot-9 forward is building on his late-season experience amidst significant roster changes for Memphis. In Sunday’s game against Utah, Jackson demonstrated his capabilities by scoring 27 points on 11-for-18 shooting. He effectively managed to limit his turnovers and fouls to just two each while feeling comfortable attacking the basket, successfully converting seven of his eight attempts inside.

Another recent addition for the Grizzlies, Spencer was eager to display his shooting prowess, especially following the trade of Desmond Bane. The former second-round pick excelled by hitting 7-for-10 from three-point range and accumulating 23 points in 29 minutes of play. He kept the offense flowing, although he needs to work on his passing with a ratio of three assists to five turnovers. The 6-foot-4 Spencer appears to have fully recovered from a broken left thumb that kept him out for part of his initial G League season.

While the Thunder’s starting backcourt, consisting of 2024 draftees Nikola Topić and Ajay Mitchell, draws significant attention, it was undrafted free agent Mady Sissoko who delivered a consistently solid performance in Sunday’s victory over Philadelphia. The 6-foot-9 big man registered 13 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and a steal in just over 22 minutes. Although accumulating four fouls in such limited time is concerning, he has shown enough court awareness on both ends to be a contender for a roster spot.
