After Championship Glory, Chet Holmgren Locks In $250 Million Extension with Thunder

Following their triumph in the NBA Championship, Chet Holmgren has reportedly secured a maximum five-year rookie contract extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

As reported by Shams Charania of ESPN, the former Gonzaga Bulldogs star’s agreement with the team could potentially amount to $250 million.

In the 2024-25 season, the impressive 23-year-old forward averaged 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game, boasting a shooting percentage of 49.0% from the field and 37.9% from three-point range.

Holmgren was chosen as the second overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. Unfortunately, he suffered an injury during a summer event in Seattle, which sidelined him for the entire 2022-23 season.

This year, he faced another setback, missing three months due to a hip injury. However, he made his return in February, helping fortify the Thunder during the crucial stages of the season and contributing to the team’s first-ever championship victory.
