Tidjane Salaun didn’t return to France during off-season: “There’s no regrets” Текст: Following Zaccharie Risacher and Alex Sarr, Tidjane Salaun was the other French player entering the best league in the world through the NBA Draft – selected with the 6th pick by theHornets. Once ending his first NBA season with 5.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, he decided not to return to France in the off-season to improve his game in Charlotte. Interviewed by The Charlotte Observer, he revealed this to be part of his mentality. “That’s something normal for me. I’ve done this now for the last three years. I have worked in the summer, and that’s something I like. There’s no regret. Just sacrifice some cool stuff for a better future, I can say,” he said. “I’m just proud of myself to have this mentality to continue to work, because that is going to help me be better for the next season,” Tidjane Salaun continued. Also, he underlined in which areas of the game he believes he has improved. “I feel more in control; I can have good balance and finish on two feet throughout the finish and not just the passes. That’s the best improvement. I added balance. The other difference I can say is that I feel a little bit faster,” he added. Before heading to the NBA, the 19-year-old played in the LNB and in the Basketball Champions League with Cholet, finishing the 2023-24 season with 9.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
