The NBA 2K26 Summer League wrapped up on Sunday with the Hornets defeating the Kings in the championship matchup. Alongside two consolation games, here’s a look at the standout performances from the final stretch in Las Vegas:
In the long shadow of his Duke teammate and unanimous No. 1 draft selection Cooper Flagg, Knueppel steadily enhanced his draft stock, ultimately being drafted fourth overall by the Hornets. His performances in Vegas validated the high expectations, culminating in an MVP-worthy display during the Hornets’ championship win in the Summer League.

Knueppel led his team with 21 points, including six pivotal points in the fourth quarter. Although he shot 8-for-21 overall, he excelled from beyond the arc with a 4-for-11 performance and contributed five rebounds. Having played in five out of the Hornets’ six games, Knueppel concludes the summer league with averages of 15.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists on 40.6% shooting (34.3% from three) over 27.7 minutes per game.
Wong, a 6-foot-3 guard who was drafted by the Pacers in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft, spent most of last season on a two-way contract with the Hornets before securing a championship title with Žalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania. In the summer league finale, which ended in a 101-80 victory, Wong posted a game-high 18 points and six assists while shooting 6-for-11 (3-for-7 from three), achieving a remarkable plus-28 rating in just 22 minutes of play.
Over the course of five games, Wong averaged 7.0 points on 45.8% shooting, including an impressive 38.5% from long range, all while keeping his turnovers to a mere 0.8 per game in 13.4 minutes. Such efficiency may warrant more significant opportunities moving forward.
In a display reflecting their franchise’s ‘Grit N’ Grind’ ethos, the Grizzlies played hard until the final moments of Sunday’s consolation game, which ended in a 105-82 victory against the Clippers.
Small, picked No. 48 overall this year, earned a two-way contract and concluded his Vegas tournament with 17 points (5-for-9 field goals, 3-for-5 from three), in addition to four rebounds, nine assists, and a steal in 22 minutes.
Burton, who worked hard to secure eight appearances with the G League team Memphis Hustle after going undrafted in 2024, delivered an impressive performance with 20 points (8-for-14 shooting), seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals, finishing his 23 minutes with an astonishing plus-41 rating.
