Javonte Green Joins Detroit Pistons: A New Chapter for the Versatile Swingman

The Detroit Pistons are set to secure a one-year contract with veteran swingman Javonte Green, 32, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.

After spending the previous season with both the New Orleans Pelicans and the Cleveland Cavaliers, Green will join Detroit, marking the fifth team in his NBA journey, which has also included stints with the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls.

Javonte Green’s path to the NBA was not immediate; he accumulated valuable experience overseas prior to establishing himself in the league.

After graduating from Radford University in 2015, Green initially made his mark in Europe with Spain’s Peixegalego, where he began to attract attention as a promising talent.

He then spent two years at Pallacanestro Trieste from 2016 to 2018 before joining ratiopharm Ulm, competing in the EuroCup and registering an average of 13.9 points per game.

Throughout his six years in the NBA, Javonte Green has recorded averages of 5.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
