Stephen Curry is reflecting on his journey while remaining focused on the future.
This week saw the release of Curry’s book “Shot Ready,” which has garnered an abundance of positive feedback, quickly climbing into Amazon’s top 10 best-sellers and leading the sports literature charts.
In over 400 pages filled with more than 100 photographs—many capturing candid, behind-the-scenes moments—the Golden State Warriors’ standout guard, who has clinched four NBA championships, earned an Olympic gold medal, and holds the record for the most three-pointers made in league history, aims to provide fans with an intimate glimpse into his mindset and approach to the game.
“We wanted to create something meaningful, not just from a sports viewpoint but also a personal one, showcasing the various highs and lows I’ve experienced and the influences of those around me,” Curry explained. “It felt fitting to do this while I’m still actively playing under the spotlight. This serves as both a moment of reflection and an inspiration for me to continue striving for more in this sport.”
The book marks another milestone in Curry’s expanding brand. He has established the Curry Brand with Under Armour, launched a multimedia company, ventured into the bourbon industry, announced plans for a restaurant, and is working to make golf more accessible. Additionally, he and his wife, Ayesha Curry, run a nonprofit focused on providing meals and educational resources to underprivileged children.
Of course, Curry continues to excel at basketball, which remains his primary focus as he embarks on his 17th NBA season while still performing at an elite level.
“I feel like I’m delving deeper into my passions and what excites me,” Curry stated. “It can sometimes feel overwhelming. Yet, when I engage with projects like this book, my Underrated golf tour, or my bourbon venture, it’s all part of how I celebrate life. I’m passionate about sharing these experiences with anyone willing to listen. It’s about expanding my platform and opportunities around the things that truly resonate with me.”
Curry personally selected all the images featured in the book and shared that he frequently finds himself pausing to reflect on individual photos, taking a few moments to reconnect with the memories and feelings of the moments they encapsulated.
“Success may not always manifest as you imagine, yet it is attainable for everyone when our preparation merges with our conviction at the critical moment,” Curry articulated. “That’s the essence of being shot ready.”
