Aaron Gordon is considered one of the most reliable teammates for Serbian superstar Nikola Jokic on the Denver Nuggets. On Tuesday, coinciding with his 30th birthday, the American power forward shared his thoughts about playing with Jokic during a segment on ESPN’s NBA Today.
“He’s incredible,” he affirmed, echoing a sentiment commonly expressed by Jokic’s colleagues. “To be able to play alongside one of the greatest players, if not the greatest of all time. The influence Jokic has is remarkable…”
Gordon further elaborated, “I believe we share a strong connection both on and off the court. You all will witness that develop,” as he looked ahead to the 2025-26 season.
In the middle of the 2020-21 season, the San Jose native was traded from the Orlando Magic to the Nuggets. Their collaboration not only shone during the championship run in the 2022-23 season, but it also showcased thrilling plays fueled by the creativity of the three-time NBA Most Valuable Player and 2023 Finals MVP.
With the offseason acquisitions of Lithuanian center Jonas Valanciunas and Cameron Johnson through trades, a reunion with Bruce Brown, and additional summer signings of Tim Hardaway Jr. and Kessler Edwards, the Nuggets have enhanced their roster depth, significantly bolstering their championship aspirations under head coach David Adelman.
After completing a single season in college with Arizona, Gordon was chosen as the fourth overall pick by the Magic in the 2014 NBA Draft. He quickly positioned himself as one of the team’s key players before relocating to Denver in 2021.
