Nolan Traoré, a rookie for the Brooklyn Nets, is entering the NBA with a strong sense of self-assurance and determination.
After spending last season playing professionally with Saint Quentin in France, he feels that his time there has equipped him well for the rapid pace of the league.
“My professional experience from last year definitely played a role in my readiness; it has significantly boosted my preparation for this moment,” Traoré stated, according to BeBasket.
Head coach Jordi Fernandez noted Traoré’s capability on offense, saying, “His ability to drive to the basket isn’t solely about scoring; it also helps in attracting defenders, allowing him to find teammates open on the other side of the three-point line.”
When discussing what is expected of him, Traoré remarked, “It means I must consistently be the quickest player on the court, game after game—and there are 82 in total. It’s a substantial commitment, and I need to prioritize my physical health.”
Although his first Summer League game was challenging, with just 7 points on 30% shooting, Traoré remains optimistic about his prospects.
“We all experience training camps like this,” he said, eager to demonstrate his true capabilities once the regular season starts.
