Nolan Traoré, a rookie for the Brooklyn Nets, is entering the NBA with a strong sense of confidence and determination.
Having gained professional experience in France with Saint Quentin last year, he believes that his time there has equipped him well for the faster pace of the NBA.
“My experience playing professionally last year definitely benefitted me; it made me more ready for this challenge,” Traoré remarked, according to BeBasket.
Head coach Jordi Fernandez emphasized Traoré’s potential on offense, noting that “his ability to drive to the basket is effective not only for scoring but also for attracting defenders and setting up teammates for open shots from beyond the arc.”
When discussing the expectations placed on him, Traoré stated, “It means I need to be the quickest player on the court for every game—there are 82 games in total, and it’s crucial for me to take care of my body.”
Even after a challenging Summer League opener, where he scored 7 points with a shooting percentage of 30%, Traoré is still optimistic.
“We all have to navigate training camps like this,” he commented, eager to showcase his true capabilities when the official games start.
