The Milwaukee Bucks suffered a defeat at the hands of the Sacramento Kings, despite an outstanding showing from Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The Greek forward dazzled with a performance that included 29 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists—all while also playing the role of a local hero.
Following the game, Giannis addressed the media in the locker room, recounting an incident that led to his black eye, as well as a series of amusing anecdotes involving groceries, an altercation, and a woman’s purse.

“Actually, I was at Pick’n Save, right?” Giannis began. “While I was in line paying for my groceries, I noticed a guy who was about to steal a purse from a lady,” recalled the Bucks player.
“So I stepped in, like, ‘Hey man, what are you doing? Stop!’” he detailed after the Kings matchup. “I grabbed him, but he turned and elbowed me in the eye,” he told a reporter. “However, I managed to bring him down, took the purse back, and returned it to the lady… and she was safe,” the Greek continued.
“I even covered her groceries because she was so startled,” he added with a chuckle. “After that, the police arrived and took him away. Then, I just headed home.”
