After facing several challenges in recent months, including an early exit from the Serbian national basketball team at EuroBasket due to a hamstring issue and a back injury that affected the start of the 2025 NBA Preseason, Bogdan Bogdanovic has encountered difficulties at the beginning of the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season with the Los Angeles Clippers.
The 33-year-old Serbian shooting guard has only appeared in two games under head coach Tyronn Lue’s guidance. Across these brief outings totaling 33 minutes, he has managed to score just two points on 1-of-9 shooting, along with averages of 3.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.
“We’ll be patient with you. Take your time to find your groove, get back in shape, and work on your conditioning. We’re committed to supporting you through this,” Lue stated during a media session following practice on Tuesday, addressing the slow start of both Bogdanovic and fellow teammate Bradley Beal, who are both recovering from injuries. “Just don’t rush it and remember not to get frustrated with yourself.”
A seasoned player with 540 games in his career, Bogdanovic was acquired by the Clippers last February after spending five years with the Atlanta Hawks and three prior seasons with the Sacramento Kings. In 2014, three years before he made his NBA debut, he was selected by the Phoenix Suns as the 27th overall pick. During his time at Fenerbahce from 2014 to 2017, he won the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague championship in his final season.
As they sit at a record of 3-2 in the early stages of the Regular Season, the Clippers are positioned fifth in the Western Conference, trailing the unbeaten Oklahoma City Thunder by three games as they prepare for consecutive matchups against the Miami Heat on Monday and the Thunder on Tuesday at the Intuit Dome.
