In recent months, Bogdan Bogdanovic has faced a series of challenges, including an early exit from Serbia’s senior national basketball team during EuroBasket due to a hamstring injury, as well as a back injury that hampered his start to the 2025 NBA Preseason. As a member of the Los Angeles Clippers at the beginning of the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season, the 33-year-old Serbian guard has encountered difficulties.
Under the guidance of coach Tyronn Lue, Bogdanovic has only managed to participate in two games, totaling 33 minutes on the court. He has scored just two points, achieving 1 out of 9 on field goal attempts, while averaging 3.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.
Lue addressed the situation in a media session after practice on Tuesday, saying, “We’re going to wait for you. Just take your time, find your rhythm, get your legs, get your conditioning. We’re not going to give up on you by any means necessary.” He noted that both Bogdanovic and Bradley Beal have experienced slow starts after their injuries, encouraging Bogdanovic to take his time and not to become frustrated.
Having played 540 games in the NBA, Bogdanovic joined the Clippers through a trade last February. Prior to that, he spent five seasons with the Atlanta Hawks and three years with the Sacramento Kings. He was selected by the Phoenix Suns as the 27th pick in the 2014 draft, three years before making his NBA debut. During his stint with Fenerbahce from 2014 to 2017, he earned the title of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion in his final year there.
Currently, with a record of 3-2 in the early stages of the season, the Clippers are positioned fifth in the Western Conference, trailing the unbeaten Oklahoma City Thunder by three games. They are set to face the Miami Heat on Monday and the Thunder on Tuesday in back-to-back games at the Intuit Dome.
