Tyronn Lue Stands Firm for Bogdan Bogdanovic: Patience is Key as We Support His Comeback

In recent months, Bogdan Bogdanovic has faced several challenges, including an early exit from Serbia’s senior national team at EuroBasket due to a hamstring issue and a back injury that hindered his start to the NBA Preseason in 2025. As the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season unfolds with the Los Angeles Clippers, he has encountered difficulties.

The 33-year-old Serbian guard has only played in two games under coach Tyronn Lue, logging a mere 33 minutes on the court. During this time, he has managed to score just two points on a dismal 1-for-9 shooting, while averaging 3.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.

“We’re going to be patient with you. Just take the time you need to find your rhythm, get your legs under you, and improve your conditioning. We won’t abandon you under any circumstances,” Lue stated during a media conference after practice on Tuesday, addressing the slow starts of both Bogdanovic and Bradley Beal as they recover from injuries. “Just be patient, and don’t let frustration set in.”

A seasoned player with 540 games to his name in the league, Bogdanovic was traded to the Clippers in February. He previously spent five seasons with the Atlanta Hawks and three seasons with the Sacramento Kings. In 2014, ahead of his NBA debut, he was selected by the Phoenix Suns with the 27th overall pick. He achieved notable success at Fenerbahce between 2014 and 2017, culminating in winning the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague title in his final year there.

Currently, the Clippers hold a 3-2 record early in the Regular Season, placing them fifth in the Western Conference and three games behind the unbeaten Oklahoma City Thunder. They are set to play back-to-back games, facing the Miami Heat on Monday and the Thunder on Tuesday at the Intuit Dome.
