Pawtucket’s Isaiah Miranda leaves NC State for Oklahoma State

Isaiah Miranda has found his next college basketball home.

Oklahoma State secured a commitment from the Pawtucket native early Sunday, finishing a weekend that saw him take an official visit to Stillwater. Miranda left North Carolina State after one semester and will be looking to see the floor regularly during the 2023-24 season.

Miranda committed to the Wolfpack during the December break, leaving what was supposed to be a full postgraduate year with Southern California Academy. He didn’t appear in any games for NC State, which reached the NCAA Tournament and fell in the opening round to Creighton. Miranda entered both the transfer portal and the NBA Draft at the close of the 2022-23 academic year.

According to The Field of 68, Miranda received interest from the likes of Florida State, Villanova, Central Florida, Georgetown and more after putting himself back on the open market. He worked out for a handful of NBA teams before officially withdrawing from the draft process earlier in the week. Miranda becomes the ninth commitment for the Cowboys in this recruiting cycle, joining fellow transfers Javon Small (East Carolina), Jarius Hicklen (North Florida), Mike Marsh (Jacksonville) and five incoming freshmen.

Miranda was a consensus four-star prospect in his class after leaving Tolman for the prep ranks. He held offers from Providence, Rhode Island, Connecticut, USC, UCLA, Louisville, Oregon, Memphis, Maryland, Syracuse, Arizona State and more before joining the Wolfpack. His size at 7-foot-1 and versatility away from the basket made him a star on the grassroots circuit with Rhode Island Elite.
