The Colorado basketball team on Monday announced its nonconference schedule for the 2024 season, which features eight games inside the friendly confines of the CU Events Center.
A rematch of the Rocky Mountain Showdown is one of those home games for the Buffaloes.
Colorado State will travel to Boulder on Saturday, Dec. 7 to battle the Colorado basketball team.
CSU took care of business against the Buffs last season in Fort Collins, winning 88-83 in front of a sold-out Moby Arena crowd. It was the Rams’ first win in the series since the 2017-18 campaign.
Colorado hasn’t lost to CSU in Boulder since 2016, but the Buffs lost a significant amount of talent this offseason.
Each of their top five leading scorers from a year ago have either left for the NBA (KJ Simpson, Tristan da Silva, Cody Williams) or the transfer portal (Eddie Lampkin Jr., J’Vonne Hadley).

The Rams have lost veteran point guard Isaiah Stevens to the NBA and a pair of frontcourt starters (Joel Scott, Patrick Cartier) to graduation, but CSU hoops star Nique Clifford — a former Buff — is back in the fold after testing the draft waters.
These two teams have split their last 10 matchups in the rivalry, setting up the 2024 basketball edition of the Rocky Mountain Showdown to be another epic one.
Time and television for Colorado’s nonconference home games will be announced at a later date. Colorado State’s full nonconference schedule has not been released.
