UNC basketball led the nation in this stat for 2023-24 season

The North Carolina Tar Heels basketball program found its groove again last season, a year removed from missing the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Hubert Davis’ team won the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season title, earning a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Despite not winning it all and losing in the Sweet 16, the season was a fun one for the program. And a lot of fans in the Dean Dome saw some fun games.

The Tar Heels led all of college basketball in home attendance last season, averaging 20,593 fans in 15 games. They beat out Syracuse (20,288), Kentucky (19,928), Tennessee (19,664) and Arkansas (19,106).

Overall, the Dean Dome saw a total of 308,895 fans take in games last season cheering on the Tar Heels. The players feed of the excitement from the crowd and it really shouldn’t be a surprise that UNC led the way in attendance.

Can they follow it up and do it again for the 2024-25 season?
