NBPA, SIAC and SWAC Return for the Sixth Annual Top 50 Camp

ATLANTA – The National Basketball Players Association, the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and the Southwestern Athletic Conference hosted the Top 50 Basketball Camp July 25-27 in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Top 50 Basketball Camp featured a group of the best men’s basketball players from the SIAC and SWAC. During the three-day camp, players showcased their talent against their peers of the neighboring conference through competitive games and scrimmages, participated in on-court skill development training, and attended educational sessions curated to foster success beyond the basketball court.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the NBPA as it returns to the campuses of Morehouse College and Clark Atlanta University for the sixth annual Top 50 Camp,” expressed SIAC Commissioner Dr. Anthony Holloman. “This event exemplifies the NBPA’s unwavering commitment to creating exceptional opportunities for our student-athletes, allowing them to showcase their talents and enhance their preparedness for life after basketball.”

The Top 50 Basketball Camp was designed to help HBCU student-athletes shape their futures – whether they aspire to play professional basketball or pursue other career paths. Additionally, the camp gives current and retired NBA players experience coaching, teaching, and mentoring collegiate athletes to help launch them into new career paths.

This year, former NBA players Jason Thompson, Solomon Jones, and former WNBA player Mactabene Amachree attended the Top 50 Basketball Camp as coaches and mentors.
