Lobo basketball will have plenty of nationally televised games — here’s the full schedule

Oct. 3—Lobo basketball will get some attention this season.

UNM will have at least 18 nationally televised games this season, including 14 in Mountain West Conference play, and two game on network television — vs. San Diego State in the Pit on Jan. 11 on CBS and at UNLV in the Thomas & Mack Center on FOX.

Thursday’s full schedule release coincided with the Mountain West releasing its full schedule after television partners CBS Sports and FOX had made their selections for which games to broadcast.

The Mountain West is debuting a 20-game league schedule this season, and the Lobos landed 14 of their 20 games on national television — second most in the league to San Diego State, which has all 20 of its league games on national broadcast. Other games on UNM’s schedule could still end up being broadcast by second-tier media partners of the Mountain West or other entities now that primary media rights holders have made their selections.

At least four of UNM’s 11 nonconference games will also be broadcast on national television: vs. UCLA in a neutral court game in Henderson, Nev., on Nov. 8 (CBS Sports Network), at St. John’s in New York’s Madison Square Garden on Nov. 17 (FS1); and the Lobos’ two games in the Acrisure Classic in Palm Springs, Calif., — Nov. 28 vs. Arizona State (truTV) and Nov. 29 vs. either USC or Saint Mary’s (truTV).

UNM kicks off league play Dec. 4 vs. San Jose State in the Pit, then plays three nonconference games and returns to Mountain West play without interruption Dec. 28 at Colorado State in Fort Collins.

Steve Alford’s Nevada Wolf Pack come to the Pit on Jan. 3.

The Jan. 11 SDSU game marks the second-consecutive season CBS has had its primary network, not the usual CBS Sports Network channel, choose to broadcast that matchup in the Pit.
