Expectations are high for this year’s Iowa State men’s basketball team, and it looks like coaches across the nation are also thinking highly of the Cyclones ahead of the upcoming season.

The USA TODAY Sports preseason men’s basketball coaches poll was released on Wednesday. Where do the Cyclones stand in the coaches’ eyes?

Iowa State coaches’ poll rankings update

The Cyclones enter the 2024-25 season as the sixth-ranked team in the USA TODAY Sports men’s college basketball 2024-25 preseason rankings.

Last year, Iowa State finished 29-8 and closed at No. 8 in the final USA TODAY men’s college basketball polls. The Cyclones won a Big 12 Tournament championship and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
