COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UTPB’s home opener canceled

Nov. 13—The UTPB men’s basketball team’s home opener against Navajo Technical University has been canceled.

The Falcons will still get a forfeit win from the decision.

The game was originally scheduled to take place at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Falcon Dome.

UTPB was coming off a 78-58 exhibition loss at The University of Texas at El Paso on Tuesday night in which the Falcons outscored the Miners 39-32 in the second half. Navajo Tech, meanwhile, dropped a 129-23 decision at Sul Ross State University on Tuesday in a game in which the Skyhawks only had four players on the court while the game was played with a running clock.

UTPB’s next game will now be its exhibition against the University of Southwest at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Falcon Dome.

After that will be UTPB’s Lone Star Conference opener against Angelo State University at 3 p.m. on Nov. 23.
