Heartfelt Support: Luka Doncic Sends Love to Kyrie Irving After Knee Injury During Tough Mavericks Loss

The Dallas Mavericks are facing a growing list of injuries following their disappointing defeat to the Sacramento Kings.

In the first quarter at the American Airlines Center on Monday, Kyrie Irving had to leave the game after spraining his left knee. Despite the injury, he managed to sink two free throws due to a foul before going to the locker room. The 32-year-old guard ended the game with seven points, one assist, and one rebound over nine minutes of play.

Luka Doncic expressed his support for his former teammate by sharing a series of emojis on his Instagram story in response to the injury.

“It’s just unfortunate. I hope he’s okay and that it’s nothing serious,” commented head coach Jason Kidd regarding Irving’s situation.

“The injuries we’ve dealt with this season have been tough. The players are trying their best to keep it together. Every time we seem close to having someone return, another one goes down,” the 51-year-old coach added. “Now both Hardy and Kyrie are out, and we’re really running out of players here, but our guys are continuing to fight.”

As they await medical updates, the Mavericks are aiming to improve their 32-30 record in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season. Their next matchup is against the Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo on Wednesday at Fiserv Forum.
