In recent years, Nikola Jokic has been a force to be reckoned with, amassing a plethora of individual honors while leading the Denver Nuggets to their first NBA championship in 2023. Nevertheless, Bogdan Bogdanovic believes he has not yet reached his full potential.
“He continues to demonstrate that, even as a three-time MVP and NBA champion, there’s always room for growth,” stated the 32-year-old guard of the Los Angeles Clippers, who shares the court with Jokic on Serbia’s national team, during an interview with Basketball Sphere. “There’s always an opportunity to enhance your skills and strive for greater excellence.”
“He has certainly set a new standard, and it’s remarkable how he consistently delivers at such an elevated level,” he remarked, also expressing optimism about Jokic’s prospects for the upcoming awards in the North American league. “I hope and believe he will claim the MVP title once more this year.”
Jokic has already secured the Most Valuable Player award for the 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2023-24 seasons, along with the Finals MVP title in 2023.
Reflecting on the 2017-18 season, James Harden, a new teammate of Bogdanovic’s at the Clippers, was named season MVP.
“He transformed the game of basketball significantly,” Bogdanovic noted, recalling the earlier phases of Harden’s career. “He just requires shooters to be around him, which makes it easier for him to operate in one-on-one situations. When defenses collapse, he’s adept at setting up others.”
After spending three years with the Sacramento Kings and five years with the Atlanta Hawks, the 32-year-old Serbian forward, who won the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with Fenerbahce, joined the Clippers in early February to strengthen their chances for a playoff spot in 2025.
