Headline: Luka Doncic Calls Nikola Jokic a Constant Threat Ahead of Crucial Showdown with Nuggets

LeBron James missed his fifth consecutive game in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season, but Luka Doncic led the Los Angeles Lakers to a decisive victory, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 125-109 at the crypto.com Arena on Monday.

Having returned from a right ankle sprain and playing nearly 34 minutes, the Slovenian star notched a double-double with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and added nine assists, three steals, and one block to his stats.

Next up on Wednesday, the JJ Redick-coached Lakers will take on the Denver Nuggets and their standout player Nikola Jokic as part of a five-game homestand.

“The team that has Jokic is always a threat,” expressed the 26-year-old Doncic during a postgame press conference following the victory against the Spurs. “With him on the floor, there’s always a risk, and he is difficult to defend. He knows all the tricks. He’s an incredible basketball player. But that’s exciting for us. It presents a challenge.”

For the Spurs, navigating the remainder of the season without French rookie Victor Wembanyama (diagnosed with right shoulder deep vein thrombosis), Polish player Jeremy Sochan contributed 15 points, three rebounds, and one assist. Georgian Sandro Mamukelashvili added ten points, two rebounds, and one steal.

In addition to Doncic representing Europe for the Lakers, Ukrainian Alex Len did not see any action, and German Maxi Kleber (recovering from right foot surgery) remained sidelined.

Serbian superstar Jokic was kept out of the game due to persistent injuries to his right elbow and left ankle, but the Nuggets managed to secure a 114-105 win over the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center.

Slovenian Vlatko Cancar provided solid support with five points, eight rebounds, two assists, and one steal, while Croatian Dario Saric did not enter the game.

Dutch player Quinten Post, dealing with right ankle discomfort, started for the Warriors but was limited to eight minutes, scoring four points and recording one steal alongside one rebound.
