Kings Star Sabonis sidelined for at least 10 days with ankle sprain, team braces for impact

Sacramento Kings standout Domantas Sabonis is set to miss a minimum of 10 days due to a moderate sprain in his right ankle, as announced by the team on Tuesday.

The injury occurred during the Kings’ victory against Memphis on Monday, and he will be reassessed in 10 days.

Having just come back from a hamstring issue, Sabonis boasts an impressive average of 13.9 rebounds—leading the NBA—alongside 19.2 points and 6.2 assists per game. The Kings have struggled in his absence this season, holding a 3-6 record without him.

In the meantime, Jonas Valančiūnas, his compatriot, is anticipated to take the starting position. Additionally, the Kings (34-33) have signed Terry Taylor to a 10-day contract following his impressive displays in the G League.
