The Milwaukee Bucks are not meeting expectations in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season.
Anticipating a performance significantly better than their current 38-30 record, head coach Doc Rivers convened a meeting with key players Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, according to senior NBA insider Chris Haynes on Wednesday.
Their challenges were evident in a disappointing defeat against the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center. Though the Warriors were without Stephen Curry, they managed to dominate most of the game, securing a decisive win, with Jimmy Butler stepping up on Tuesday.

As the meeting took place, the Wisconsin-based franchise had slipped to fifth in the Eastern Conference rankings. They now trail the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers by 17.5 games and are 11.5 games behind the Boston Celtics.
Taking a pragmatic approach to the final 14 games of the season reveals a slim hope for gaining home-court advantage in the Conference Quarterfinals. The Indiana Pacers currently hold a one-game lead over the Bucks for fourth place. With the Detroit Pistons closely contesting fifth, failing to finish the 82-game season strong could risk further decline.
During their discussion with Rivers, both Antetokounmpo and Lillard candidly expressed their thoughts on how to address the team’s difficulties, as reported by Haynes.
After departing San Francisco, the Bucks face a challenging five-game road trip, with upcoming matchups against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, the Phoenix Suns on Monday, and the Denver Nuggets next Wednesday.
