Headline: Uncertainty Surrounds Stephen Currys Return as Warriors Star Undergoes MRI for Pelvic Injury After Scary Fall

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The status of Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry remains unclear following a pelvic injury he suffered during Thursday’s 117-114 victory against the Toronto Raptors.

Curry, who had returned to action after sitting out on Tuesday for some rest, was injured while attempting a layup late in the third quarter. He fell heavily onto his tailbone, remaining on the court for several moments before he was assisted to his feet and taken back to the locker room.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr mentioned that Curry expressed a desire to re-enter the game, but ultimately, it was decided to err on the side of caution.

“He thought he had a chance to come back,” Kerr said. “We opted to not take any risks. Let’s hope it’s nothing serious.”

The complete extent of Curry’s injury will be determined once the Warriors receive the results from his MRI. Until then, the entire organization is anxiously awaiting news.

An 11-time All-Star and two-time NBA scoring champion, Curry has scored in double digits in 57 of the 59 games this season. He entered the game against Toronto averaging a team-high 24.3 points and had recorded 17 points before his injury.

“He hit the ground hard, you could really hear it,” remarked teammate Draymond Green. “It’s a wild situation. Definitely a concerning moment for both him and us. Hopefully he’ll be alright.”

Although Stephen Curry has been diagnosed with a pelvic contusion, the Warriors can rely on Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green for support in the meantime.

The team’s next matchup won’t occur until they embark on a six-game road trip, starting in Atlanta on Saturday.

Kerr was uncertain about Curry’s availability for the game against the Hawks, stating that the decision will depend on both Curry and Rick Celebrini, the Director of Sports Medicine and Performance for the Warriors.

“Rick is the one who makes those calls based on his assessment,” Kerr explained. “At this stage, it’s all just conjecture.”
