In his inaugural season with the Portland Trail Blazers, Deni Avdija has been outstanding, spearheading the team’s efforts to secure a position in this year’s Play-In tournament.
Even when facing a formidable opponent like the Denver Nuggets—who were without their star player Nikola Jokic—Avdija delivered an impressive performance, scoring 36 points and grabbing 8 rebounds, approaching his career-best of 43 points achieved in February 2024. The Trail Blazers triumphed with a score of 128-109, and Avdija shared his thoughts on his game after the match.
“I don’t believe I’ve ever played like this before. I always felt it was within me, but I focus less on that and just enjoy the game. I feel free when I’m on the court with my teammates, no matter how many points I put up,” he commented.
Toumani Camara also played a vital role in Portland’s recent win, contributing 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists from the bench as the team continues to strive for a higher position in the Western Conference standings.
In other league action, Franz Wagner recorded 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists to guide the Orlando Magic to a victory on the road against Washington, while Alex Sarr (19 points and 10 rebounds) and Tristan Vukcevic (17 points and 6 rebounds) faced defeat.
The San Antonio Spurs secured a 128-120 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, led by Jeremy Sochan’s 23 points and 9 rebounds, while Guerschon Yabusele matched Sochan with 23 points and added 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the loss.
