NEW YORK (AP)— Jalen Brunson is putting in some effort on the hardwood as he recuperates from a sprained right ankle, which will keep the New York Knicks All-Star sidelined for at least the last two weeks of the regular season.
On Saturday, the Knicks announced that they would provide another update on Brunson’s condition in about a week. The regular season concludes on April 13.
“Whenever he’s ready to return, he will,” Thibodeau remarked earlier this week. “He’s dedicating a lot of time to his rehabilitation. That’s the aspect he can control at this moment. We want him to focus on that. We hope he’ll have opportunities to get back into the rhythm of the game.”
Brunson has now missed his eighth consecutive game on Saturday night since sustaining the injury during a defeat against the Los Angeles Lakers on March 6. The Knicks have a record of 4-4 during this stretch and are working to maintain the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference without their point guard and team leader.
