Historic Night at Madison Square Garden: Anunoby Shines with 35 Points as Knicks Celebrate Triple-Double Milestone

The New York Knicks reached a significant lead of 26 points before ultimately securing a 128-113 win against the Dallas Mavericks during a record-setting night at Madison Square Garden.

In a historic achievement, Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart became the first duo in the franchise’s history to record triple-doubles in the same game. Reflecting on their success and Hart’s milestone of becoming the player with the most triple-doubles in a single season for the Knicks, KAT humorously likened his teammate to Nikola Jokic, the architect behind an impressive 29 triple-doubles in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season, referring to Josh as “Jokic.”

Another key player for Coach Tom Thibodeau, British O.G. Anunoby, had a stellar night, scoring 35 points on 15 of 24 shooting from the field, which included one out of three attempts from three-point range. He managed to hit a corner shot after quickly wiping blood off his face with his jersey, although he soon left the game for medical attention. Despite this, the 27-year-old forward logged over 38 minutes on the floor, contributing five rebounds, two steals, one block, and one assist to his team’s effort.

French player Pacome Dadiet had a brief outing of 93 seconds without scoring, while German Ariel Hukporti remained unavailable as he continues his recovery from left knee surgery.

Meanwhile, in Little Caesars Arena, the Detroit Pistons defeated the San Antonio Spurs convincingly, 122-96. Dennis Schroder stepped in for the injured Cade Cunningham, contributing seven points, six assists, and two rebounds for the second consecutive game. Italian player Simone Fontecchio added a couple of points, three rebounds, and one assist. Swedish player Bobi Klintman is still on a G League assignment with the Motor City Cruise.

For the Spurs, French player Victor Wembanyama was sidelined due to right shoulder deep vein thrombosis, but Georgian Sandro Mamukelashvili made a mark with 11 points, two rebounds, and one assist on Tuesday. Polish player Jeremy Sochan recorded two points, four rebounds, one block, and one steal.
