LeBron James Sparks Debate: Giannis Antetokounmpo Would Drop 250 Points in the 70s!

LeBron James is scheduled to make an appearance in the upcoming episode of The Pat McAfee Show.

A teaser for the Wednesday discussion showcased the four-time NBA champion expressing genuine disbelief at the notion that Giannis Antetokounmpo would struggle to compete in the NBA during the 1970s.

“Are you telling me Giannis couldn’t play an NBA game in the ’70s?” LeBron questioned, adding, “Giannis Antetokounmpo would score 250 points in a game back then.”

Pat McAfee, a former NFL player turned sports analyst, previewed the conversation that will be streamed in Wednesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show, although he did not elaborate on other potential discussion points. However, it seems that LeBron was transitioning from discussing the Greek sensation of the Milwaukee Bucks to Slovenian Luka Doncic, who recently joined him on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Aside from placing Giannis in a different era of the NBA and potentially comparing legendary players from diverse times, the 40-year-old versatile forward is focused on the 2024-25 regular season, aiming to position the Lakers as favorably as possible within the Western Conference rankings. Currently, the team, led by coach JJ Redick, holds the fifth spot with a 43-28 record, comfortably three games ahead of the sixth-place threshold that directly leads to the 2025 Playoffs presented by Google. They are half a game behind the fourth-ranked Memphis Grizzlies, one game shy of the third-place Denver Nuggets, and three games back from the second-seeded Houston Rockets.

As the 82-game regular season approaches its final stretch, Giannis and the Bucks are preparing to advance without Damian Lillard. With a record of 40-31, Doc Rivers’ squad is firmly positioned 5.5 games within the top six of the Eastern Conference, trailing the fourth-seeded Indiana Pacers by two games and the third-seeded New York Knicks by five games.
