The NBA is making notable advancements toward initiating a new venture in Europe, with Paris identified as a key location.
As reported by Eurohoops, the renowned European football club Paris Saint-Germain is involved in the discussions, and Le Parisien has confirmed that NBA officials have contacted PSG’s primary investor, QSI, to suggest the establishment of a franchise in the French capital.
“We have shown interest,” a spokesperson for PSG is said to have commented.
Several proposals have been put forth to the Qatari investors, including the possibility of acquiring an existing Paris-based team outright or establishing a new franchise, not affiliated with PSG, in collaboration with other partners. QSI is receptive to either option.
The NBA’s objective to expand its presence in Europe is anticipated to gain substantial momentum soon, with a Board of Governors press conference featuring Adam Silver set to take place today.
