Although it wasn’t officially declared, NBA commissioner Adam Silver was accompanied by FIBA’s secretary general, Andreas Zagklis, during the NBA Board of Governors press briefing to reveal the “next phase” in the establishment of an NBA European League.

Silver noted, “Our owners have shown strong enthusiasm for this initiative,” while Zagklis stated that this development felt like a logical progression for FIBA.
