Nikola Jokić has officially achieved a triple-double average for the season, with one game left in the regular season.
After his performance against the Memphis Grizzlies, in which he recorded 26 points, 16 rebounds, and 13 assists, Jokić became just the third player in NBA history to accomplish this milestone, joining both Russell Westbrook, his teammate, and the legendary Oscar Robertson.
Reaching his fourth assist of the game brought Jokić’s total assists this season to 700, ensuring he maintains an average of at least 10 assists per game. With 70 games played, it’s clear he will surpass this mark.
“It’s a nice achievement. It’s something I hadn’t done before,” Jokić remarked after the game when reflecting on his triple-double average. “I’m not quite sure how to put it into words. It feels good.”
This was Jokić’s 34th triple-double of the season, and he is currently averaging 29.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 10.3 assists per contest.
