Knicks Eye Trade Possibility for Pacome Dadiet as Roster Decisions Loom

The evolving roster dynamics with the New York Knicks have positioned Pacome Dadiet as a potential trade candidate, as reported by The Stein Line on Sunday.

The 20-year-old French forward made his debut in the NBA Preseason 2025 at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena but found himself in a bench role for the consecutive game against the Philadelphia 76ers. During a total of 24 minutes on the court, he managed to score four points, grab three rebounds, and dish out one assist. In his inaugural season, after being drafted 25th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft presented by State Farm, he averaged 1.2 points, 0.9 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.2 steals, and 0.1 blocks across 20 games.

Looking to carve out a bigger role in his second season, Dadiet is anticipated to be traded ahead of the 2025-26 Regular Season, as the Knicks are inclined to keep Malcolm Brogdon and Landry Shamet. The 32-year-old and 28-year-old guards have entered into Exhibit 9 contracts, which are one-year non-guaranteed agreements utilized by teams during the training camp period. To accommodate both players on the roster for head coach Mike Brown, alongside fellow guard Garrison Mathews, one contract will need to be shed before finalizing the roster for the opening night.

Reports suggest that a trade involving Dadiet is the most probable outcome.

Prior to joining the Knicks, he competed in the BKT EuroCup and Germany’s easyCredit BBL with ratiopharm Ulm from early 2023 until the conclusion of the 2023-24 season, after starting his professional career with Paris in 2021.
