The evolving roster dynamics at the New York Knicks have placed Pacome Dadiet in the spotlight as a potential trade candidate, as highlighted by The Stein Line on Sunday.
The 20-year-old French forward kicked off the 2025 NBA Preseason at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena but found himself relegated to a bench role during the subsequent matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers. Across a total of 24 minutes over both games, he managed to score four points, grab three rebounds, and dish out one assist. In his inaugural season, after being drafted 25th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft presented by State Farm, his averages were modest, with 1.2 points, 0.9 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.2 steals, and 0.1 blocks per game across 20 appearances.
As he aims to carve out a more significant role in his second year, it appears likely that Dadiet will be traded prior to the commencement of the 2025-26 Regular Season, given that the Knicks are inclined to keep guards Malcolm Brogdon and Landry Shamet. Both veterans, aged 32 and 28, respectively, have signed Exhibit 9 contracts—essentially one-year, non-guaranteed agreements utilized by teams during training camp. To accommodate both players alongside fellow guard Garrison Mathews, the team must release one contract to finalize their roster for opening night, making Dadiet’s trade a probable outcome.
Prior to joining the Knicks, he competed in the BKT EuroCup and Germany’s easyCredit BBL with ratiopharm Ulm from early 2023 until the conclusion of the 2023-24 season, following the start of his professional career with Paris in 2021.
