The invigorated Lithuanian combo forward showcased a compelling mix of aggression and efficiency as he embarked on his second season in the league on Tuesday. He achieved a shooting mark of 7/11 from the field, alongside eight rebounds, one block, and one assist, all within just over 18 minutes of play. His fellow starter, Montenegrin Nikola Vucevic, contributed in 19 minutes with three points and six boards. Coming off the bench, French player Noa Essengue recorded eight points and five rebounds in 13 minutes of action.
For the Cavaliers, Dutch player Tristan Enaruna played the entirety of the fourth quarter, scoring three points and grabbing one rebound, while French teammate Killian Hayes managed two points, two assists, and a steal. After this initial exhibition match in Cleveland, the Bulls and Cavaliers are set to face off again on Thursday at Chicago’s United Center.
In another closely contested preseason game at Target Center, the Indiana Pacers edged out the Minnesota Timberwolves 135-134 in overtime. Starting for the Timberwolves, Rudy Gobert recorded five points, four rebounds, one block, and one steal, while fellow French teammate Joan Beringer added four points, and Italian Donte DiVincenzo chipped in with three points.
Preparation games will continue until next Friday, leading up to the Regular Season, which commences on October 21.
